From my camera roll: A florist's diary
Wedding flowers at St Martin's Church, Osmaston and Osmaston Park by Flowers Less Ordinary.
Some weddings whisper elegance rather than shout it, and Charlotte and Tom's beautiful August wedding was exactly that.
Having previously created the flowers for Charlotte's brother's wedding, it was a real privilege to be invited back to design another family celebration. Returning to work with a family who already know and trust you is always special, and it gave us the confidence to create something that felt both timeless and unforgettable.
Their ceremony took place at the beautiful St Martin's Church in Osmaston, before everyone made their way to Osmaston Park to continue the celebrations beneath the estate's stunning marquee.
A Classic White & Green Palette
Charlotte chose one of those colour palettes that never dates.
Soft ivory roses, luxurious white hydrangeas, delicate lisianthus, snapdragons, astrantia, scabious and fresh seasonal foliage created a design that felt effortlessly elegant.
The combination was crisp, romantic and full of texture without relying on colour to make an impact.
Sometimes simplicity is the greatest luxury.
Framing the Ceremony
The design feature that transformed the church was the use of double urn arrangements.
Rather than placing flowers in just one focal point, we framed both the church entrance to the ceremony space and the altar itself with pairs of generous pedestal arrangements.
It immediately created a sense of occasion.
As guests walked into St Martin's, their eye was naturally drawn through the floral frames towards the beautiful stained-glass windows beyond, making the church feel even more dramatic and inviting.
Running the length of the aisle were dozens of meadow-inspired floral arrangements, creating a soft river of white flowers leading Charlotte towards Tom.
Together, they gave the church an atmosphere that felt grand, yet completely welcoming.
Flowers That Continued the Story
One of my favourite parts of the day came after the ceremony.
Rather than leaving the flowers behind, the aisle meadows travelled to Osmaston Park where they were carefully repositioned around the top table, giving them a second life during the wedding breakfast.
The ceremony urns were also echoed inside the marquee, creating a seamless flow between church and reception.
It's something I always encourage where possible—allowing flowers to be enjoyed throughout the entire day.
Elegant Without Feeling Formal
Although the styling was undeniably luxurious, nothing felt overdone.
The white flowers sat beautifully against the Derbyshire countryside, while the soft draping inside the marquee and warm summer light kept everything relaxed and welcoming.
It was refined without feeling rigid.
Classic without feeling traditional.
The sort of wedding that will still look beautiful decades from now.

Charlotte and Tom's wedding was a wonderful reminder that timeless design never goes out of style.
It was such a pleasure to work with their family once again, creating flowers for another milestone in their story.
