Sarah & Rupert – Winter Wedding at Wildhive Callow Hall, Derbyshire

From my camera roll: A florist's diary

Some weddings feel as though they arrive exactly when they're needed.

Sarah and Rupert married on a crisp January day, beginning with a heartfelt ceremony in their local church in Denstone before gathering their family and friends for a wonderfully warm celebration at Wildhive Callow Hall.

Outside, the Derbyshire countryside carried a light dusting of snow, but inside, the day was filled with flowers and loved ones.

After the quieter months of winter, Sarah chose a palette that felt optimistic and full of life. White and green flowers took centre stage throughout the celebrations, creating a timeless elegance that perfectly suited both the church and Wildhive's beautiful interiors.

The church itself was transformed with abundant floral designs. Large arrangements welcomed guests at the entrance, while delicate meadows softened carved stone and framed the ceremony with an effortless, natural beauty. The altar was filled with seasonal flowers, bringing softness and movement beneath the glow of stained glass windows.

For Wildhive, the floral story continued. Bud vases danced across the tables alongside candlelight, creating an intimate atmosphere as daylight faded into evening. Larger statement arrangements ensured the celebration retained all of the generosity and abundance of the ceremony spaces.

It was a wedding that proved winter celebrations don't need to feel restrained. Instead, Sarah embraced the season with flowers that were fresh, hopeful and quietly luxurious.

And, in what is rapidly becoming something of a Wildhive tradition, the boys wore black tie – the perfect finishing touch to an effortlessly elegant Derbyshire wedding.

We loved creating these flowers for Sarah and Rupert; a celebration filled with warmth, family, friendship and the promise of a new year ahead.
