Colourful garden-inspired wedding flowers at Grangefields by Cripps in Derbyshire by Flowers Less Ordinary.
Some weddings are memorable because of their scale.
Others stay with you because of the people.
Lucy and Lucy's beautiful celebration at Grangefields by Cripps was undoubtedly the latter.
From the very first conversation, they knew exactly how they wanted their wedding to feel—relaxed, intimate and full of colour. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, every detail reflected who they are, creating a day that felt wonderfully personal from beginning to end.
A Joyful Colour Palette
The brief was one of my favourites.
Soft blush pinks melted into warm peaches and apricots, with vibrant coral dahlias adding little moments of excitement throughout the designs. Delicate blue delphiniums danced above the arrangements while touches of Scottish thistle quietly honoured one of Lucy's Scottish heritage, adding both meaning and texture without overpowering the softness of the palette.
The result felt fresh, romantic and wonderfully uplifting—like an English cottage garden in late summer.
Flowers Designed to Be Enjoyed All Day
One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how thoughtfully every arrangement was planned.
For the ceremony, we created natural meadow-style floral designs to frame the registrar's table. Rather than those flowers only being enjoyed for half an hour, they were carefully moved after the ceremony to become part of the wedding breakfast styling.
It's one of my favourite ways to help couples make the most of their flowers. Guests experience the arrangements twice, while creating a seamless flow between each part of the day.
Bridesmaid Bouquets That Became Centrepieces
Lucy and Lucy also embraced one of my favourite styling ideas.
Instead of leaving the bridesmaids' bouquets aside after the ceremony, each bouquet was placed into a glass vase to become part of the reception décor.
Five beautiful bouquets instantly became five elegant table arrangements.
Combined with clusters of colourful bud vases, the tables felt abundant, relaxed and full of movement, all while making the most of every stem that had already played such an important role in the ceremony.
It's a wonderful way to create beautiful styling while being thoughtful with both budget and sustainability.
A Celebration Full of Personality
Grangefields provides such a beautiful backdrop for colourful flowers.
The warm brick walls, timber beams and candlelight perfectly balanced the softness of the blooms, allowing the pinks, peaches and blues to really sing without ever feeling overpowering.
Every arrangement felt natural, generous and full of life—exactly as Lucy and Lucy had imagined.
Looking around the room, you couldn't help but smile.
The flowers reflected the atmosphere perfectly: joyful, welcoming and completely unpretentious.

It was such a privilege to create the flowers for such a genuinely lovely couple.
From meaningful touches like the Scottish thistle to the thoughtful re-use of the ceremony flowers and bouquets, every decision helped create a celebration that was both beautiful and deeply personal.
