Julie's Jewel-Toned Wedding at Tissington Carriage Hall, Derbyshire

From my camera roll: A florist's diary

Some weddings take years to plan, while others come together in a matter of weeks.

Julie's beautiful wedding at Tissington Carriage Hall was the latter.

With just three weeks to go before the big day, we adapted one of my Ready To Go wedding collections to create flowers that felt entirely personal to her. It's exactly why I love these weddings so much. They offer a starting point, but there's always room to make them your own.

Set against the beautiful grey stone of Tissington Carriage Hall, Julie chose a rich late-summer palette of jewel tones that brought warmth and vibrancy to the day. Deep berry shades, glowing pinks and touches of plum created flowers that felt romantic and full of personality.

Rather than traditional bud vases, Julie opted for low bowls of flowers to dress the guest tables. The effect was abundant and inviting, encouraging guests to gather around and enjoy the celebration together.

For the ceremony, we created a floral table meadow that framed the vows beautifully before later becoming the backdrop to the top table. One of my favourite ways to work is designing flowers that can evolve throughout the day, ensuring they can be enjoyed for as long as possible.

Julie also made a lovely adjustment to her bridal bouquet. Instead of my more familiar wider, asymmetrical style, she chose a slimmer, elongated hand-tied bouquet. Elegant and refined, it suited her perfectly and was a wonderful reminder that even within a Ready To Go collection, the details can still reflect each couple's individual style.

I think this wedding perfectly captures what Ready To Go was designed for: beautiful flowers without the overwhelm, thoughtful flexibility, and the reassurance that even with a shorter timeframe, your wedding can still feel entirely your own.

These photographs capture the flowers just before guests arrived – the quiet moments before the celebrations began, when everything was in place and waiting for the day to unfold.

Sometimes, all you need is a few weeks, a clear vision and a little floral magic.

Thank you, Julie, for trusting me to be part of your wedding story.
